Back in early June, Nintendo of America announced that it would be moving it's sales and marketing team from Redmond to either New York or San Francisco. Following that announcement, approximately 90% of the division decided to leave the company, including bigwigs Perrin Kaplan, Beth Llewelyn, and George Harrison.
Most expected the trio to stay through E3 - which they did - but now the shakeups are really beginning. First, Nintendo listed job openings for a Vice President of Corporate Affairs and a Senior Director of Public Relations. These positions are currently held by Perrin Kaplan and Beth Llewelyn, respectively. Now, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison has recorded and delivered a voice message announcing his "early retirement" from the Big N.
The 15-year veteran will aid in the transition from Redmond to Redwood City and New York, but will take his leave after the move is complete. Nintendo has yet to officially confirm his departure from the company.
